The SAIT Student Investment Fund (SSIF) is an experiential learning initiative designed to provide hands-on experience in investment management to SAIT students. The SSIF operates under a comprehensive Governance Framework, ensuring transparency, responsibility, and a commitment to excellence.
Portfolio Managers, ideally between two to four members of SFS leadership, oversee the day-to-day management of the fund's investments. They are responsible for decision-making regarding SSIF funds and overseeing pitches.
Senior Analysts are specifically appointed analysts that are in charge of managing a group of analysts focused on a specific industry. They oversee groups of analysts and evaluate pitches before the managers.
Portfolio Analysts are SAIT Financial Services, FinTech, and Accounting students selected to be apart of the SSIF through an interview process. These students are tasked with equity research initiatives, making pitch decks, and attending meetings.
Senior Analysts are appointed by the Portfolio Managers to oversee different industries based on their strengths.
Portfolio Analysts are assigned to Senior Analysts for mentorship, ensuring a collaborative learning environment.
Students can apply via LinkedIn. If selected for an interview, students will undergo both a personality assessment and technical assessment to assess team fit.
Portfolio Managers conduct regular meetings to discuss progress reports, investment research, and formal pitches. These meetings aim to foster collaboration and informed decision-making.
Quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports are conducted, providing an overview of the fund's performance, decisions, and compliance.
The SSIF Governance Framework is reviewed annually by management to ensure its relevance and effectiveness.
